We've gone this long without a decent website (or any website) so why would we want one now?
The answer is simple: online reputation draws in or repels customers.
Whether we like it or not, our clients are vetting us online before calling or visiting. Some are saying, "Online purchasing is much easier but I'd like to shop locally this time. What company is worth the drive? What organization is worth the investment of time and energy?"
It has been a very long time since a customer's first impression comes by walking through your front door. Your Google MyBusiness listing, photos on Bing Maps and comments on your social media play a critical role in attracting clients.
What does your online presence currently communicate? Do people see "permanently closed" on the Google listing? Do they see one review that is a "1-star" telling the whole world to stay away?
Those are the digital versions of a "sorry we're closed" sign on your shop door!
Is your Facebook page accurate with a recent post? Was your last Instagram post in 2017? The old adage that "no advertising is better that bad advertising" is still somewhat relevant but still leaves potential customers with a question about whether they should just order from Amazon or not.
The solution: bring in one or two trusted people who can do a few online searches of your business (including reviews) and bring to you as much of an objective overview as possible. You'll be surprised by the results.
Finally, don't hesitate to reach out to JLM Designs to get your best foot foward. We build fantastic online presence for businesses and will also provide ongoing maintenance.
Let's work together to draw in consistent customers and clients by turning that "closed" sign around.
Stay safe out there!
